Six months ago was a sad, sad place for me.  It is nice to look back at my life then and the entire scenario being more of a memory.

It has taken me some time to move past, and it is very true that time heals all wounds.  For time, I am thankful.  For my friends and family, I am thankful.  For God to still love this little girl who decided to run in the corner and pout for a month (or two or three), I am eternally thankful.

The poem below I wrote as I was finally facing those stretches of what I called “dry eye days.”  It is still one of the favorite things I’ve ever written.

As you go forward in 2015, no matter how mind numbing and hard it can be, know that LOVE does WIN.  No matter what…

Love wins

Love Wins

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. – John 13:34,35

Between friends of old and friends of new,
there is love.
In memories of years past when worries were few,
there is love.
Between siblings at birth and those all in Christ,
there is love.
In homes with “just enough” and everything sufficed,
there is love.
With children to care for, cuddle and rear,
there is love.
And those gone before us, we cling to, so dear,
there is love.
In sun rises, moon rises, rainfalls and snow,
there is love.
And watching the flowers and vegetables grow,
there is love.
Between lovers at home of all ages and race,
there is love.
On the skin of a back in a heart shape they’ll trace,
there is love.
And when worries abound and grief makes a coup,
love will break it and smash it and tear it in two.
